The North Cape Publication
This book consists of 47 drawings, made with black oil pastels.
It began with a longing: the urge to scratch into my paintings: where does that come from, and what happens when I turn that longing into research?
So in the summer of 2025 I cycled towards the North Cape.
Every evening, after pitching my tent, I drew the landscape in front of me. Day after day, drawing after drawing, so this became a diary of the north, in line and shadow.
Along the way I met people. Eighteen of their stories are woven into this book. Unexpected encounters with strangers often tell you more about yourself than you'd expect, about how you see the world, about what you carry and what you leave behind. In the end, they shape you. :)
